| Book by Helen Dafter - The twelve major ribbon embroideries and associated smaller flower studies presented in Floral Interpretations for Silk Ribbon are inspired by photographs taken by author Helen Dafter over the years, and by delicate watercolour studies painted by her daughter. Some of the flowers are created by the combination of several different stitches, while others use just one or two basic stitches. Along with detailed step-by-step stitch instructions and diagrams, and a tracing outline for each project, the photographs and watercolours on which the designs are based are included for the embroiderer's enjoyment. Embroiders may choose to reproduce the designs directly, or perhaps to duplicate and combine some of the flowers to vary a project and make it their own. The creative techniques revealed in these projects allow the embroiderer to combine, delete, embellish and enlarge to whatever scale or size is required.
