Crazy Quilt Wall Hanging

This was my first CQ project, done around 1989.  Somehow my mother (1000 miles away) and I started a joint project, where she, in her first CQ attempt as well, pieced the squares and mailed them to me to embroider.  I learned a lot in the process, and the hanging, now residing in my living room, serves as a great sampler when I run out of stitch ideas on other CQ projects.  48" by 60".

Crazy Quilt Tea Cozy

A tea cozy made to commemorate my mother's 80th birthday.  The cozy is based on a "bee" theme.  It started out with "bee" fabric (the center apricot piece) given to me by fellow CQ list member Sharyn Pellegrin.  By the time I was finished, there were 18 bees of various shapes and sized on the cozy.  Oh yes, I should mention my mum's name is Bea!

Crazy Quilt Heart Pillows

Heart pillows are very simple but amongst my favorites.

Primitive Crazy Quilt Christmas Stocking And Tea Cozy

This past winter I tried some primitive CQ in woolens.  While I like doing embroidery embellishment, it was fun to see how a more rustic and

simple design would look.  By the way, the doll in the stocking was a "taliswoman" I made a few years ago to ward off evil spirits!

Crazy Quilt Heart Brooches And Treasure Bag

The heart brooches are each about 2 1/2" wide.  I'm finding it fun to work in miniature, making each stitch really count  At the last minute I quickly stitched up a "treasure bag" in which to send the brooch.

Another hanging, this one primarily in cottons with a bit of silk.  The beaded snowflake shown on the closeup is one of my favorite embellishments.
